2023 Achievement
My biggest achievement for 2023 is having my first solo show in London, at The Hyde Gallery. I was spotted last October, at The Other Art Fair with Saatchi Art by the owner of the gallery Luda Hyde. Since then I have sold artworks and painted my first commission for the gallery. I was asked in June if I would like the opportunity of a solo show for September and I grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Being a mother of three and with the summer holidays looming, I knew the challenges of balancing family life and my passion. With a supportive family, I worked night and day all summer to create nine new artworks. I already had eight paintings available at the gallery. I was incredibly proud of my achievement and grateful for the opportunity and the belief in what I could achieve.
Lesson learned from 2023
The valuable lesson I have learned this year is that my health is important and there has to be balance in life. I have two passions, painting and yoga and they both complement each other. I find the practice of yoga helps with the stresses of life and I have let myself get into situations this year where I have hugely overstretched myself and I then crash. I feel I now know what I am capable of taking on and the time limits that come with each job in hand.
2024 Goals
The aspiration I have set for myself for next year is to expand my reach of sales by working with other galleries. I am busy applying to galleries that I visited at the Affordable Art Fair and sourcing galleries that would suit my style of painting. I would also love to produce my own wallpaper range or bespoke wallpaper panels. After studying printed textile design at Central Saint Martins, this is something I would love to achieve in the near future.
