2023 Achievement
My most notable achievement of 2023 was being featured and accepted into, “Unveiling Abstraction” an online juried exhibition. The selected image, “Blue Calm,” challenged me to explore abstraction through my photography outside of my typical work. I’m pleased with the way this image, with its softened watercolor-like palette, captures the essence of serenity in an otherwise chaotic world. In 2023, as an emerging fine art photographer, I have undergone a transformative journey that has imparted valuable lessons crucial to my artistic and professional growth. I have let some fears and apprehensions surrounding various avenues of self-promotion, such as participating in art fairs and engaging in direct sales through my website (instead of a third party drop and ship portal), hold me back from expanding my reach and connecting with a broader audience. I also realized that developing a more strategic approach with an online presence can be a game-changer.
2024 Goals
As a fine art photographer, I have several aspirations for 2024 that I have never done before. One of them is to venture into the realm of art fairs, where I could establish face-to-face connections and direct engagement with art enthusiasts, collectors, and fellow artists. I also aspire to exhibit my work in physical spaces, including galleries, local establishments, or anywhere with available wall space that would accept hanging my work. In addition, I have set a goal to get published in outlets such a magazine, online blog, or even producing my own publication as a zine. I’d also like to revamp my website to make it easier to explore, and to add a direct sales portal. And finally, I plan to be more strategic in my direct and online marketing.
