2023 Achievement
I was commissioned to create a large site specific artwork on the theme of “All the women I could have ever been” for a group exhibition called Invisible Women. I am a disabled woman and exploring the idea of all the women I could have been without all the prejudice and fear I experienced growing up with dyslexia, a vastly misunderstood condition at the time, was both exciting and liberating.
2024 Goals
I would like to have two solo exhibitions this year, further exploring the theme of invisible women. Partly due to my disability, but also due to the fact that I turned 60 this year. At times my age made me feel overlooked, ignored … I have a voice and being seen and heard for older women is harder, especially if you also have a disability as there are many barriers to access. I also have plans for a collection of new paintings, including several commissions. This will keep me off the streets, and busy.
