Hosted by the Visual Artists Association (VAA), Global Voices of Art: The Power of Being Seen is a dynamic Q&A webinar designed to help artists build credibility, expand their international reach, and position their work for professional success in today’s competitive art market.
To become one of the top 500 artists worldwide, you should focus on building a strong professional presence, developing a compelling portfolio, and strategically increasing your visibility. Practical steps include:
- Curate your portfolio with a story that sells – highlight your unique vision, style, and consistent themes to captivate galleries, collectors, and curators.
- Develop an authentic artist brand – ensure your name, aesthetic, and online presence reflect your creative identity clearly and professionally.
- Highlight press, exhibitions, awards, and memberships – any recognition strengthens credibility and signals industry relevance.
- Build your press portfolio – even one feature in a niche blog or local magazine can position you as an emerging name to watch; seek coverage in international art publications when possible.
- Sharpen business and marketing skills – targeted professional development will help you pitch your work, attract collectors, and maintain sustainable growth.

Being selected for the Art500 signals genuine recognition – not only adding prestige to your portfolio but opening doors to exhibitions, residencies, and long-term professional relationships.
In addition to prize opportunities, the webinar will explore how tailored professional development can transform an artist’s career. The Momentum CEO Rise programme – a four-session course offered by the VAA – provides targeted business and marketing training, designed specifically for artists, that empowers participants to attract press coverage, increase sales, and build a sustainable professional practice. All shortlisted artists of the VAA Art500 International Prize will receive access to the Momentum course, ensuring they benefit from structured guidance that can make a significant difference in elevating their profile and accelerating their career growth.
