2023 Achievement

In 2023 I was shortlisted for 8 awards, won 4 (including the Portrait of Britain, AOP Emerging Talent and Lens Culture B&W Photography Award) but the most notable achievement and one of great pride is having my work exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery as part of the Taylor Wessing Photo Portrait Prize Exhibition. I made a series exploring disability, which as a disabled artist was a vulnerable experience that forced me to come out of my comfort zone, but I learned that this discomfort is where personal growth and self-discovery happens. And the result of this is that I now have a piece from this series platforming the disabled body as a work of art on the walls of the National Portrait Gallery.

2024 Goals

I have two goals for next year, the first is to establish an Artists Collective for queer, disabled or BIPOC artists across various disciplines, and the second is to create an exhibition with this collective. As a queer, non-binary, disabled artist I am passionate about intersectional representation and believe it is vital to platform the voices of those who are marginalised and often less heard in society. I want to create a space for other socially engaged artists to feel safe and inspired and explore concepts that challenge societal norms.
