Marian Hall

Gallery Room 1 – Under £500

A lot of my art work has been created by printing and dyeing fabric which I’ve embellished with stitch. More recently I’ve enjoyed exploring traditional printmaking techniques and stitching into prints. My work is usually inspired by nature but recently I have also created art in response to the pandemic. More of my work can be seen in the Portfolio section.

Xenotopia II | £425 framed + P&P | 100cm x 100cm | Fabric, dye, ink and oil stick, embellished with hand stitch

The contradiction of the salt encrusted land of the Atacama Desert, punctuated with large expanses of water, really captured my imagination. I used my research into salt crystals to inform the shapes that I printed and the shapes of the embroidery stitches. I can still feel the heat of the desert when I look at this work.
