2023 Achievement
I think my most notable achievement has been the success of my art in the USA . I secured a few large commission projects this year and most were for US clients. I’d say 60% of my sales this year, at least have come from the U.S. It feels like I am branching out overseas and my work is sought after beyond the UK.
Lesson learned from 2023
I learned that one must always stand firm in one’s belief as an artist. With determination and conviction if you are willing to not let the creative spark within you be hindered by disappointment or challenges, that’s the greatest honour one can give to our artistic flair. I’ve had a terribly trying year. Losing a wonderful studio space with its adjoining small gallery spot, on top of everything else but I realised this…My gift is something I carry…I house this in ME. Bricks and mortar or funding may let us down at times but as artists, we always carry the power! My lesson was to dig deep, rise above defeat and find my power.
2024 Goals
I would like to approach more galleries and perhaps try to do more animal art. Even some birds in my thicker use of acrylics. I like to set myself new challenges and I hope it may open even more doors of opportunities as I add new subject matter to my portfolio.
