Exhibition Information: ‘Between Air and Earth’ is an exhibition focusing on the personal narratives formed around a sense of place. A fascination with the natural world, a passion for colour, form and shape, and a poetic interpretation of the landscape is a common thread uniting the works on show. Exhibition Info: Dancing with my shadows: During my residency at The Crypt Gallery (January 2025) , I explored the parallels between this hidden, confined space and the act of motherhood and caregiving—both nurturing and sheltering while maintaining a sense of enclosure and restriction.
Using pinhole cameras (exposures took over 4 days) and chemigrams I explored my own presence and the presence of the public and its movements in space. The dark and humid qualities of the crypt allowed me to record the changes using long exposure techniques which produce a drawing like marks on the photographic paper.
I made a darkroom in one of the alcoves where I created the chemigrams and developed the pinhole pictures.
