Workshop: Turning Everyday Spaces into Exhibitions

Turning Everyday Spaces into Exhibitions
30th April 2026 | 13:00 GMT | Online | Free Workshop
This free online VAA workshop is designed for artists interested in exhibiting beyond traditional gallery settings. It offers practical guidance grounded in real artist experiences, with insights shared directly by artists who have worked in non-traditional spaces, alongside the VAA team and partner organisations.
Through conversation and case-led discussion, speakers will reflect on what worked, what they learned, and how artists can confidently approach exhibiting in everyday and unexpected locations.
The workshop will bring together artists who took part in OpenSpaces 2025, alongside members of the VAA team and partner organisations, to share real experiences, insights, and practical advice. Together, we will explore how to identify and secure suitable spaces, approach venues with confidence, curate exhibitions outside traditional gallery settings, and engage local and global audiences.
This session is ideal for artists looking for clear, experience-led insight into alternative exhibition models and new ways of sharing their work.
