Art gives me access to the unknown and intangible and it has enabled me to communicate in ways that were never possible with words and numbers. My painting consists of abstract and representational works, often inspired by nature, landscapes, buildings, people and maps. I think about colour interactions and movement. Paintings may be planned in advance with scale drawings and test pieces, or completely unplanned from the first daub or splash… or somewhere in between. I am intrigued by the patterns and shapes that emerge from what seem to be random processes.
