Have you ever found yourself feeling so stressed or out of sorts that you feel disconnected? Trying so hard to keep it together, you do nothing but live life on repeat, spiralling in ever decreasing circles. I’ve been there, disconnected not just from myself, but the elements that serve us best, low self esteem and a wish to just hide away, the very opposite to what it was that I actually needed. It started many years ago after a pretty serious illness and during the onset of another. It took a while for it all to fall into place, but I found my daily walks, just the tip of the iceberg and I credit in part my resilience, head space and indeed the start of my fitness journey to them. The beauty of nature has more than just healing properties, it has many lessons that we can use to evolve more peacefully, allowing us to feel more whole and healthy. Not only that, but I now use these experiences to produce fine art and fine art photography to help inspire others.
We all share this unique planet we live on, we all have repercussions to our existence. As we begin to experience a planet that is dying around us due to unnecessary consumerization and mindless living, we are reminded that as we see life fade before us, we will fade with it. We are all undeniably interconnected.
This piece is one from my ‘Lessons in Nature’ – Elephant Wisdoms collection, shot whilst working across Africa. It is a statement of our disappearing earth and the need to find a more acute level of understanding and compassion for our fellow sentients and the earth we share.
