Virginia Phillips
Gallery Room 4 – Over £500-£2000
As someone who has been living Internationally for more than a decade and in recent times has become a full time artist, this painting reflects so much of where I have come from. It’s an emotional and metaphorical response to where I grew up in the beautiful Tweed Valley. The pink ribbon represents how this valley was formed and symbolises sunsets that are no more, as my family have moved on. The pink is like a warm blanket that reminds me of home, keeping us safe in these uncertain times, whilst the river continues flowing, pushing through, a bit like us.
