Rosalind Davis (graduate of the RCA and Chelsea College of Arts) is an artist as well as a curator who has curated over 30 exhibitions in the last 12 years. From 2016-20 she ran a dynamic programme at Collyer Bristow Gallery, a unique exhibition space in a central London law firm, showing early-career artists alongside established names. In these 4 years, Davis co-hosted a number of events and private tours for arts organisations and professionals, including The Fine Art Group, The Mall Galleries, Young Professionals in the Arts, Barry Schwabsky, the Smithsonian, the Contemporary Art Society and the Government Art Collection. She achieved record-breaking audience figures for these shows, which were attended by commercial gallerists, curators, collectors, writers, consultants, interior designers, artists, teachers, students and others.
Davis’ previous curatorial projects have been at Standpoint Gallery, Arthouse1, Geddes Gallery and with Zeitgeist Arts Projects (ZAP). ZAP was an ambitious arts organisation and membership programme co-directed by Davis from 2012-15 at Bond House Gallery (ASC) and at Core Gallery, London from 2010-12.
Davis lectures expansively at universities, galleries and arts organisations across the country including the RCA, ICA, Camden Arts Centre, UAL, VAA, Professional Artist and many more and has been a mentor for over ten years working for a-n, Artquest, Shape Arts, Plop, UKNA and independently.
Davis has led art tours for the ICA (London and Boston), South London Art Map and the Whitechapel Gallery and contributed to BBC4’s Film ‘Tales of Winter. The Art of Snow and Ice.’ As a Consultant Davis has worked for arts organisations, charities and independents as well as BBC4 and E4.
Davis is co-author of ‘What they didn’t teach you at art school’ which is internationally available. Davis has also been an Ambassador and curatorial mentor for UK Young Artists and been on many judging panels to select works for exhibitions and prizes.
As a multi disciplinary artists she has exhibited in over 100 shows in a range of galleries, museums and organisations and has work in private and public collections.
The Factory Project is an independent museum-scale display, showcasing work from over 80 artists and taking place during London #FriezeWeek2021 in Silvertown produced by Thorp Stavri.
