COVID-19 Creative Commissions Grant

The Visual Artists Association has created a fund for micro-commissions to be paid to artists and creators, covering a wide variety of visual art; painting drawing, sculpture, photography, glasswork, and mixed media.

Laura O’Hare, Director of the Visual Artists Association commented: “We want to help artists who have been impacted during Covid-19, as many of them have lost their income and direction because of the national shutdown. These COVID-19 #CreateArt4Hope Commissions will give artists an opportunity to express their creativity during this crisis by commissioning them to contribute to this lasting legacy. The artwork will build a unique cultural archive which will be made available online for everyone to appreciate and enjoy for many years to come.”

Artists will be able to apply for a fund of £200, from an initial grant of £10,000. The first phase of applications are open from 8th June and will close 17th August as part of the Covid-19 international initiative #CreateArt4Hope.

CreateArt4Hope

The CreateArt4Hope Campaign has been organised by the Visual Artists Association as a response to the COVID-19 crisis. Thousands of Artists have come together to share their artwork across social media platforms, to create art that raises hope and highlights beauty in these uncertain times. The Fund will benefit the most vulnerable in terms of mental health support during the COVID-19 pandemic. Teaming with the charity, Mind, we will be helping the charity with their emergency appeal due to the Pandemic. As a thank you for supporting the fund, all those who donate will receive a curated art collection of A3 prints kindly donated by Artists, Emma Rogers, Carne Griffiths Artist, Michael Batey, and Tammy Walters Fine Art.
